Why choose us?
Since 2021, the REGIS virtual reading group (REading Group in Innovation Studies) has met online twice a month to bring together young researchers in the field of economics of innovation and science to discuss the most relevant recent scientific articles in this field, both from a theoretical and methodological viewpoint.
Today, the REGIS platform has hosted more than 50 meetings, with more than 700 registered users from all over the world. Registered members include doctoral students (60 %), post-doctoral fellows (10 %) and lecturer-researchers (20 %), as well as other members, including graduate level students (10 %). These participants interact beyond online meetings to share data, codes and other working tools.
The summer school, which was first held in June 2023, was born out of the intention to extend the reading group meetings into the summer months, transforming them into intensive face-to-face sessions providing participants with the opportunity to discuss their own research work, both among themselves and with senior researchers.
The first edition of the REGIS summer school was organised by the Sant'Anna College of Pisa in Italy. The event gathered nearly 50 doctoral students from 13 different countries. Speakers included renowned researchers who led sessions on a variety of topics ranging from research and development subsidies, technology strategy subsidies, technology strategy and industrial dynamics. In 2024, the summer school was held at Carlos III University in Madrid. Conferences and workshops covered crucial topics such as patent data and the economics of science, with participants from 11 countries.
For its third edition, this summer school in innovation economics will bring together international specialists to discuss state-of-the-art research and methods, thus fostering networking opportunities. The programme aims to build and strengthen an international network of researchers and doctoral students specialising in innovation and science economics, thereby facilitating future collaborations and fostering sustainable academic exchanges.
